Hence, the conference is also expected to foster networking, collaboration and a joint effort among the conference participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. The main focus of the symposium is to explore how the fields of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management may contribute in addressing one of the main challenges that mankind is currently facing; how to achieve sustainable economic and social growth while at the same time reducing environmental degradation, climate change and resources scarcity. The main theme of the symposium is therefore <strong>\u201cThe Challenge of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in Building Sustainable Manufacturing and Service Systems\u201d<\/strong>.
