Undergraduate Student Paper Competition

The IEOM UNDERGRADUATE Student Paper Competition will recognize outstanding papers in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management and operations management written by student(s). Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the First IEOM EU Conference on July 24, 2017. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificates.

Graduate Student Paper Competition

The IEOM GRADUATE Student Paper Competition will recognize outstanding papers in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management and operations management written by student(s). Selected papers will be considered for the competition and must be presented at the IEOM EU Conference on July 24, 2017. The paper will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the IEOM UK Symposium award banquet on July 25, 2017.

The IEOM Undergraduate Research Presentation Competition will recognize outstanding research presentation in the field of industrial engineering and operations management presented by student(s). Students can submit abstract only and present at the IEOM UK Symposium on July 24, 2017. The presentation will be judged based on the presentation only. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. Scoring rubrics will be used for both parts of the judging. Winners will receive award certificate.  The winning awards will be given at the IEOM EU Conference award dinner banquet on July 25, 2017.

Doctoral Dissertation Competition

IEOM Doctoral Dissertation Research Presentation Award recognizes outstanding research in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management and operations management. Students must enroll in the doctoral program in 2017. These awards are presented at the IEOM Awards Banquet in Bristol, UK on July 25, 2017.

Master Thesis Competition

IEOM Master Thesis Presentation Award recognizes outstanding research in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, operations research, engineering management, operations management and related areas. Students must enroll in the masters’ program during the current academic year. These awards are presented at the 2017 UK event.

Capstone Design Project Competition

The IEOM Capstone Student Design Project / Final Year Project (FYP) Presentation Competition will recognize outstanding design project in the field of industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, engineering management and operations management prepared by student team. Capstone student design project team can showcase their engineering design project by submitting a summary of the project as an abstract and present it. It should highlight problem solving, creative thinking, innovation, project planning, and teamwork through a challenging design and build project. Each submission must be presented at the 2017 IEOM UK Symposium at the University of Western England on July 24, 2017. The presentations will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be given at the 2017 IEOM EU Conference award event on July 25, 2017. Award certificates will be given for the best senior design project presenters.

High School STEM Project Competition

The IEOM High School STEM Project Presentation Competition recognizes the outstanding students for their accomplishment in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) for their innovative and creative projects. High school students can submit individual and/or team research projects in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or similar areas. Each submission can provide a summary of the STEM project. The projects will be judged based on the technical content and presentation. The winning awards will be given at the IEOM EU Conference award banquet on July 25, 2017 .

Simulation and PLM Design Competition 

The IEOM Siemens PLM Student Design Competition will recognize outstanding designs created by student(s) using any Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. This includes: NX (formerly known as Unigraphics), Solidedge, Teamceter,  Tecnomatix any other simulation like Arena, Promodel, Witness, Simul8, Automod, etc.. Students can submit an abstract and present their design / simulation projects at the 2017 IEOM EU Conference. The competition will be judged based on the design poster presentation at the conference. A group of academics / professionals will serve as judges. A scoring rubric will be used for judging. Winners will receive award certificates. The winning awards will be presented and recognized at the award luncheon.

Poster Competition

The IEOM Best Poster Competition Awards recognize the best poster presentations at the 2017 IEOM EU Conference. All poster presentations are to be reviewed by judges. Three awards will be given for the first, second and third places. Award certificates will be given for the best poster presenters.
